Using the Hema Western Australia Road and 4WD Atlas Maps on DVD with OziExplorer

Setup Steps

(It is assumed you have already purchased the Hema Western Australia Road and 4WD Atlas on DVD).

1. If you have not purchased OziExplorer, to test the loading of the maps, download and install the "Trial" version of OziExplorer included in the download from the OziExplorer software web page.
2. Insert the DVD and install the Hema WA Road and 4WD Atlas software and maps to your PC. You must install the software and maps to the default folder.
3 The OziExplorer (.map) files required to load the map images from the default folder on your PC can be downloaded from the link below.
4. NOTE: These are not the maps, the maps on DVD must be purchased.

Download the WA Road and 4WD Atlas Edition 1 (.map) files from here.

5. This download is a self-installing exe file. Run the download file to install the (.map) files to a folder "Hema WA Road and 4WD Atlas" under your OziExplorer Maps folder.
6. To open a map press the Load button on the Toolbar, Select the Load Map From File option on the menu. Use the dialog to go to the "WA Road and 4WD Atlas 1st Edition" folder (eg.  c:\oziexplorer\maps\Hema WA Road and 4WD Atlas 1st Edition). Select the map to load, it should find the map image and open it up.

There are of course many configuration options in OziExplorer which can change the way it behaves and you will need to gradually learn how to use these to gain the full benefit of the software. A good place to start is to read the tutorial available on the help menu. There is of course a great deal of other help available also and it is particularly worthwhile reading the Configuration section about Map paths and Map Image paths. The Map Search FAQ on the OziExplorer support page has information on how OziExplorer needs to be configured to automatically find maps.
