Steps required to save sections of the Geoscience Australia Raster 250K Mosaic 2005 (See here for 2003 Maps)
In the Raster 2005 Software
1. Run the Raster software and open up the 250K Mosaic from the Mosaic CD or DVD.
2. Select the region of the map, the maximum size of the region depends on the maximum size the Raster software can export.
3. On the Raster software choose -
4. The image will be saved to the specified folder and file name.
In OziExplorer
1. On the menu select "File" / "Import Map" / "ECW Maps (UTM or Lat/Lon)"
2. Specify paths
3. Press "Import"
4. If requested, in the Import Parameters dialog select -
5. The image(s) will be imported and the .map file(s) created.
6. For use in OziExplorer 1.11.4 or earlier, the ECW image must be converted to the special OziExplorerCE format using the Img2Ozf conversion utility before copying the (.map) file and the converted image to the PDA. For use in the OziExplorerCE (version 1.11.6 or higher), copy the (.map) file and the (.ecw) image to the PDA.
1. Run the Raster software and open the 250K Mosaic from the Mosaic CD2.
2. Select the region of the map, the maximum size of the region depends on the maximum size the Raster software can export.
3. On the Raster software choose -
4. The image will be saved to the specified folder and file name.
In OziExplorer
1. On the menu select "File" / "Import Map" / "All DRG Maps on a CD or in a Folder"
2. Specify paths
3. Press "Import"
4. On the dialog
5. The image(s) will be imported and the .map file(s) created.
(NOTE: We suspect that files saved from the Raster software in the ECW format do not contain the correct georeferencing information. The calibrations of the ECW maps saved from the Raster software and imported into OziExplorer will not be correct, so it is recommended that you do not choose the Type ECW)
