(a) Map File Paths |
Up to 6 paths can be configured. If ticked as "Active" these paths will always be searched during a search for another map. This is a critical setting, unless this is set correctly maps will not be found. It is recommended the .map file and the map image be stored in the same folder. (See "Map Image File Path" below if the map images are stored in a different folder to .map file.) |

(b) Map Image Files (These are the paths set using the File Menu option "Configuration" / "Map Image Files") |
This is only necessary to set these paths if you have not stored your map images with the .map file. Set this path to the folder where the map image files are stored. There are 2 paths and both are checked when a map image is required. Note: The link to the image path contained within the .map file is totally ignored in OziExplorerCE. 2 paths are allowed so you can have 1 path on the device and 1 path on a Flash RAM card (or anywhere else). Set these path(s) to match the path(s) where you have copied the map images. Only 1 path need be entered if you are not using both. Note: Not all image formats can be used in
OziExplorerCE. The images must be converted .ozf2 format using the
Img2Ozf Converter or must be in ECW format (Development version only). |

This is a map search which occurs while Moving Map is running. Configuration Settings
(a) Map File Paths Same as for Finding Maps, see section 1 (a) above.
(b) Map Image Files Same as for Finding Maps, see section 1 (b) above. (c) Load Detailed Map If ticked, a more detailed map (better scale) will be searched for at the specified interval (default is 60 seconds) when running in moving map mode. If a better map is found it will be loaded automatically. Where these settings are used in OziExplorerCE during Moving Map (a) Find Maps at Cursor (using the Map Menu option or Screen Control button) Clicking this button will initiate a search for a map the same as "Finding Maps" (see section 1 above). (b) Check for More Detailed Map (using the Map Menu option or Screen Control button) If this button is depressed then OziExplorerCE will search for a more detailed map at the interval that has been set in configuration. If a more detailed map is found then it will be loaded. (c) Check for Less Detailed Map (using the Map Menu option or Screen Control button) If this button is depressed then OziExplorer will search for a more detailed map at the interval that has been set in configuration. If a more detailed map is found then it will be loaded. |

3. What to do if you get the message "Image File not Found or could not be loaded". |
(a) Firstly make sure the image file is on the CE device. It certainly won't find it if you have not copied the file correctly! See the Using Maps In CE page for more information. Note: Not all image formats can be used in OziExplorerCE. The images must be converted to .ozfx3 format using the Img2Ozf Converter or must be in ECW format. (Previous OziExplorer format .ozf2 is also supported)
Early versions of OziExplorerCE do not support OZFx3
format, you may need to download the latest version of OziExplorerCE.
Do not worry about the file path specified within the ".MAP" file, OziExplorerCE ignores this path and looks at the folders above to find images. Note that OziCE does not recurse subdirectories, it will only look at the folders specified, it does not look at deeper nested folders. |

4. When I go to load a map, the dialog is looking at "\OziExplorer\Maps" but I have unticked it and entered another path to where my maps are stored on my Storage Card. |

The first path in the list of 6 paths is the default path when you go to open a map, even if you have it UNTICKED in configuration. Always make the first path (Path #1) point to the location you want as your default when you open a map. |
