Edit Position

This dialog allows you to edit the positions for Waypoints and Route Waypoints.

Format - Select the format of the position data to be entered by clicking on the arrow on the dropdown box. The available selections are

These position formats are always available

• Degrees
• Degrees Minutes
• Degrees Minutes Seconds
• UTM

• The position format which matches the Map projection/Grid is always added
• The position format you have selected for the display of positions for the map is always added

Latitude or Longitude - Enter the coordinate in the format selected.  You can include the "N or S" to specify North or South or "E or W"  to specify East or West anywhere in the position string. + or - signs can also be used.

These are examples of valid position entries, the position format could be set to either Deg.Min or Deg.Min.Sec it does not matter, the format of the entry is determined by the software based on the spaces in the position string.

145.45675W = decimal degrees, west

56 32.4534S  = degrees and minutes, south

-23 46 12.56 = degrees, minutes and seconds, south

Easting or Northing - If the selected position format is a Grid then the position changes to Easting and Northing. + or - values can be entered.

If the Grid position format requires a Zone then an extra field for the zone is displayed.

If the Grid position format is UTM then an extra field is displayed for the Hemisphere (N or S).
