This page has information on specific Garmin GPS models.

Colorado, Oregon or Dakota

Connected via USB

OziExplorer Version 3.95.4s and later has support for the Colorado and the Oregon. (3.95.5e Dakota support was added)  These GPS's store the data in GPX files which OziExplorer supports.

In OziExplorer Configuration / GPS Tab, select GPS Make = Garmin;  GPS Model = Colorado or Oregon.

The GPS must be attached to your computer as a USB mass storage device (USB Mass Storage Mode) and it will become visible as a disk drive.

Data is transferred using the options on the "Garmin" menu.

To transfer data from OziExplorer to the GPS, use the "Save Waypoints / Tracks to GPS" options on the Garmin Menu, to save the data in GPX format to the GPS.

To load data from the GPS to OziExplorer, use the "Load Waypoints / Tracks from GPS" option on the Garmin Menu to load the GPX file from the GPS.

Garmin Spanner Mode - Only available on some models

If supported by your GPS, moving map is available -

Connected via Serial Port

If you have the special serial cable and set the Interface in the GPS to Garmin Serial the Colorado and Oregon can do upload/download.

If the Interface is set to NMEA In/Out it will output NMEA data when connected via a serial port.

Quest (and Quest 2)

For upload / download of waypoints and tracks, on the COM Tab in configuration tick "Garmin USB".

On the GPS Tab, select Other Garmin and configure the other parameters to suit the GPS.

We are not sure if the Quest has moving map capability via NMEA but try ticking the option "Use PVT Moving Map instead of NMEA"
