This page has information on specific Garmin GPS models.
Colorado, Oregon or Dakota
Connected via USB
OziExplorer Version 3.95.4s and later has support for the Colorado and the Oregon. (3.95.5e Dakota support was added) These GPS's store the data in GPX files which OziExplorer supports.
In OziExplorer Configuration / GPS Tab, select GPS Make = Garmin; GPS Model = Colorado or Oregon.
The GPS must be attached to your computer as a USB mass storage device (USB Mass Storage Mode) and it will become visible as a disk drive.
Data is transferred using the options on the "Garmin" menu.
To transfer data from OziExplorer to the GPS, use the "Save Waypoints / Tracks to GPS" options on the Garmin Menu, to save the data in GPX format to the GPS.
To load data from the GPS to OziExplorer, use the "Load Waypoints / Tracks from GPS" option on the Garmin Menu to load the GPX file from the GPS.
Garmin Spanner Mode - Only available on some models
If supported by your GPS, moving map is available -
set the GPS Interface to "Garmin Spanner" on your GPS. (Setup / System / Interface).
when the GPS is connected to the computer and turned on, the message "Usb Cable Detected? Would you like to go to Mass Storage Mode" - Answer NO.
Note: Do not install Garmin Spanner software on the PC, it is not required.
in OziExplorer configuration make sure "Garmin USB" and "Use PVT for Garmin instead of NMEA" are both checked.
Connected via Serial Port
If you have the special serial cable and set the Interface in the GPS to Garmin Serial the Colorado and Oregon can do upload/download.
If the Interface is set to NMEA In/Out it will output NMEA data when connected via a serial port.

Nuvi or Zumo

In OziExplorer Configuration / GPS Tab, select GPS Make = Garmin; GPS Model = Nuvi.
The Nuvi must be attached to your computer as a USB mass storage device (USB Mass Storage Mode) and it will become visible as a disk drive.
Data is transferred using the options on the "Garmin" menu.
To transfer data from OziExplorer to the Nuvi, use the "Save Waypoints / Tracks to GPS" options on the Garmin Menu, to save the data in GPX format to the Nuvi.
To load data from the Nuvi to OziExplorer, use the "Load Waypoints / Tracks from GPS" option on the Garmin Menu to load the GPX file from the GPS.
Quest (and Quest 2)
For upload / download of waypoints and tracks, on the COM Tab in configuration tick "Garmin USB".
On the GPS Tab, select Other Garmin and configure the other parameters to suit the GPS.
We are not sure if the Quest has moving map capability via NMEA but try ticking the option "Use PVT Moving Map instead of NMEA"
